Mrs. Claborn, 6th Grade Counselor

Hello all!!

My name is Lasha Claborn. I am one of the school counselor's at Horizon Intermediate. I have an extensive history working with all ages in mental health and substance abuse and in a non traditional education setting. I am excited to get to know each and everyone of your children and help them see their potential not only in school but in life. Outside of working, I married my college sweetheart and we have an amazing son, Brody. He keeps us extremely busy with his love of adventure and always trying something new!

Mrs. Courtney Frederick, 5th Grade Counselor

Hello everyone! My name is Courtney Frederick, and I am so excited to be the new 5th Grade Counselor at Horizon Intermediate! As a Mustang High School graduate, being back in my home district feels awesome. I am a proud alumna of the University of Central Oklahoma, where I received a B.A. in Psychology and a Master’s in School Counseling. I have worked in education for several years, but this will be my 5th year as a counselor. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching corny reality T.V. shows, and crafting, such as painting kindness rocks to hide. I also love family movie nights with my husband, two children, and our frenchies.

Want to know about your teenagers day, but all you get is the answer "fine" when you ask? Try some of these questions instead!

On a scale of 1-10 how was your day?
What is one new thing that you learned today?
What did you do at lunch today? Who did you sit with? Talk to?
Did you get a chance to be helpful to someone? If so, what did you do?
Did anyone help you with anything?
Did you make any new friends?
Which class are you learning the most/least in?
Which is your easiest/hardest class?
What was the coolest (saddest, funniest, scariest) thing that you saw today?
Which class has your favorite group of students in it?
If they played music in the halls at school, what would everyone want them to play?
